Times are A-Changin'

Yes, things are changing. But first I have some catching up to do. :) Oh! And don't forget to enter my giveaway to jazz up your sneaks while you're here! You've got until Thursday at noon!

Peanut Butter and Jenny

Day 7: If I had to pick a time period to live in, I think I would be confused. This is a question that comes up often and I never really have an answer to it! Paul and I watched Midnight to Paris a few months ago, and all that resulted was confusion from this question. I've always liked the 20s! I think it would be fun for a little while, at least.

However, one thing does not confuse me (or Paul) about this question.

If we were alive and thriving during this time, we would be big fans. Mom, you would be proud.

Day 8: Holy Moses, my life in five years. That's a big question. Well, I'm 21 now so that would lead me to 26. It doesn't really seem far in the grand scheme of life but in that time I'll need to figure out what I'm doing!

Hopefully by then I'll be out of school. Perhaps with a Master's. Doing my dream job. Working with dancers. Maybe little kid dancers. Personal training, teaching, making a name for myself. You know, that sort of thing. I'm still pretty optimistic about all of that. One thing's for sure, I'd like to be making "grown up" friends at this point. You know. Not school friends. If that makes sense. Don't I sound like a youngster?

This is generally how I envision my life. (source)

Day 9: My food philosophy! I can do that one!  Basically, I like to follow the mindset of do what makes you happy. And I don't mean everybody should use that and say "if I eat fast food everyday, I'll be happy because it tastes good."

(pinterest)

No. You know what my philosophy is? OOH. Breakthrough. My food philosophy is exploration. I used to live a lifestyle where I was gogogo (used to? I'm still like that) and my food very much resembled that. I didn't eat breakfast. My dinners consisted of an Applebee's salad/Pizza Hut/anything close to the school so I could get back in time for my activities/dance/this that or the other thing. I survived and I was happy. But I didn't know what else there was out there for me!!

Now that I've explored a bit more, I know what makes me not cranky. I know what makes me feel like I can take on the world. I still don't know everything, so it's a constant journey to find what makes me happy.

But yeah. I like that. My food philosophy = exploration.

Day 10: Woohoo! We've reached today! You want to know about somebody who inspires me? Jeez. I try my hardest to find inspiration everywhere. And a bunch of things inspire me in different ways.

My dance team inspires me to push myself, work to be a better leader, and keep things fun and interesting. The FitFluential community inspires me to become a better blogger and businesswoman. They inspire me to go after what I want and take no prisoners. My family inspires me to make a good name for myself so I have good stories at parties about what I'm becoming. My boyfriend inspires me to look at myself, challenge my opinions, and create a better person on a daily basis.

I'm getting sappy. So look at some pictures. :)

After our '12 show. :)

That's me and my sister. Cheesin'.

Paul doesn't like this picture. But I think it's awesome.

So now I'm caught up! YES! I'm going to be playing a bit of catch-up with this challenge always, I feel. And I acknowledge that. But I want to complete it all. Wha-bam. Here I come. :)

If you've made it this far, I've got a question for you. I'm looking at making my blog more professional, more awesome, etc. I'm looking to self host but I am lost. And I'm wondering if any of you fabulous bloggers have any resources for me to take a look at?

I'm calling on YOU for help!

What are your suggestions for taking a blog to the next level?

Weekend Update

Welcome back to the week, everybody. I biked to class and took an exam this morning already, so I am feeling pretty done even though it's only 10:07. LAME. But I'm going shopping with some friends soon and then heading home to see my sissy-poo graduate.

So let's rewind to the weekend, shall we?

It happened.

You may recall me telling you about this exciting Boot Camp that was going to happen. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I didn't have my camera because I still haven't found the battery charger so...that kind of sucks. Haha. I didn't want to take my phone out because I really wanted to be immersed in the event. So I'll just run through some highlights.

  • DELICIOUS yogurt and granola. Somebody needs to tell me what kind of yogurt I ate. Oh my gosh. And I came home with some bags of Kind granola. YUM.
  • Morning yoga. I love starting the day off this way and wish I could do it every day.
  • PureBarre. Holy Moses. I was definitely feeling it yesterday. I would be interested in doing a class with all of the actual tools, but alas, I am not made of money. Also, some lady did not understand personal space. So I had to deal with that the whole time. Pet. Peeve.
  • Bootcamp with Holly Waters aka my newest idol. Oh my gosh, she kicked my BUTT and I loved every single second of it. I e-mailed her right after because I'm a spaz and have some class recommendations from her. I'm way beyond excited. :)
  • Free lunch and cooking presentation.
  • First one to complete the hardest rock wall they had open. NO BIG DEAL. At least that's what the guy told me. I felt so hardcore. And have already looked up places to climb.
  • Nutrition lecture, which was really informative. And I will probably share some information on here later in the week!
Honestly, this event just reminded me how excited about my life I am. It was perfect and I cannot wait to go back next year. It's just a shame that I've got so long to wait.

Yesterday I had a nice rest day and took it in the form of a Franklin Square adventure. Paul and I walked from our apartment to get a little bit of action in for the day.

I got a hole in one this hole. Not a big thing.

My ball was purple, of course.

Licking the Liberty Bell ala HIMYM.

:)

Our mini golf final score was 45 (Paul) to 43-ish (me), so I'd say it was pretty successful. We also had a Square Burger Tasty Cake Shake. And it was yummy and four thousand percent worth it. :)

Now it's back to Monday. Angst.

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

A Belated Game of Tag

So my lovely dear Abby from Style Princess tagged me to do this...on January 19th. See how efficient I am and how prompt I am with my blogging? Nothing has changed from Italy. Except maybe I speak more in English now. SO YEAH! I'm it!

The Blogger Game:
The Rules

1. You must post the rules.
2. Post eleven fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
4. Tag eleven (too bad I don't have eleven bloggerpals) people and link them on your post
5. Let them know you've tagged them!

My eleven fun facts:

1. I have a stuffed Simba that I've had since I was super tiny. He's recently been joined by a cherry-scented bear. And I love them.
2.  I still have Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus songs on my ipod because I refuse to acknowledge the fact I won't need them to teach children to dance anymore.
3.  My professor this semester stereotyped me as a strange legwarmer/sock wearer. He was correct.
4.  My sister and I have seen every single episode of Gilmore Girls and used to have summer marathons. It is sad how much I know about that show.
5. I get really, really, really excited about sporting events. If I go to a game where people won't cheer and yell with me...well. I wouldn't go to the game with them in the first place.
6. My car's name is Excalibur. I don't drive him anymore and I guess he's officially been handed down to my sister. She claims that she renamed it Bubbles. Or something stupid like that. Clearly it is a boy car.
7. I used to hate potatoes, tomatoes, and ketchup. Now I will eat them all except for ketchup. I do, however, eat Whole Foods ketchup because you can trick me into thinking it is barbeque sauce.
8. I LOVE DINOSAURS. I was OBSESSED with them as a kid. And I think that's still in there somewhere.
9. Laundry is my least favorite chore. I absolutely hate it. I have wash in right now, in fact. And I hate just thinking about it.
10. I would live in athletic clothes if I could. I'm either at either end of the spectrum. That or dresses. You will never ever ever ever find me in jeans. Think you did? Check again. They're jeggings.
11. I love living in Philadelphia and I feel like such an awesome person living where I do. Also, I think that Philly's food trucks are awesome.

Abby's Questions:
1. What is your favorite holiday?
Is it really, really lame to pick my birthday? Because I would absolutely pick my birthday. And then I'd pick Christmas. But I absolutely love every holiday and go crazy for each one.

2. What is your favorite baked good?
I think I would used to say brownies, but they're typically too sweet for me anymore. I really like fresh baked cookies with chocolate chips, craisins, and some oatmeal. That's incredibly specific.

3. What is your favorite picture of yourself/friends of all time?
That's like asking me to pick my favorite child. Honestly?

Moose girls love.
I love this picture so so much.
:D
Maybe my favorite biff picture for life.
You've seen this like 309572305 times.
On our road trip to Kansas. :)
You asked. I bet you're sorry now. I really can't pick just one. These don't even cover it. I LOVE PICTURES.

4. Least favorite movie?
There are a few I would imagine that I do not like. But I distinctly remember going to see Bad News Bears (the remake one) in theaters and nearly crying because I thought it was that awful.

5. How many licks until the center of a Tootsie Pop?
Nobody licks Tootsie Pops so that answer is irrelevant.

6. Gloves or mittens?
I look stupid in mittens because of my tiny hands. So gloves.

7. Least favorite book you had to read in high school?
The Crucible. I hate the book. I hate the play. I hate the movie. I hate anything and everything having even a slight relation to The Crucible.

8. How high are your highest heels?
Really not very high because I don't want to be too tall. I'd say normal size.

9. Favorite Disney character?
Jasmine or Simba. Really I have a soft spot for most of them.

10. Tea or coffee?
I haaaaate coffee. So I'mma go with tea.

11. Describe your favorite jacket.
Silly Edinburgh girl. :) I don't like any of my jackets because that means it is cold outside. Is that an acceptable answer?

I tag:
I don't have any friends. I'm not going to play favorites. So anybody that sees this can play! :) But I guess if I'm playing tag, I'll tag Lauren, Kristin, and Alyssa to start with.

My questions:
1.  What's the best food you've ever bought from a truck?
2.  What's your favorite song to dance to?
3. What is your favorite class right now and why?
4. Chloe or Maddie? (If you don't watch Dance Moms, what's your favorite TV show?)
5. What is your stance on best friends?
6. Tell me about your favorite vacation.
7. Who was there for the happiest moment/day/week/etc. of your life?
8. What is your favorite form of exercise?
9. Do you cook/what is your favorite thing to cook?
10. What has been the worst job you've done so far?
11. What's your favorite city? It can be anywhere in the world.

Let me know if you do this and I'll cling to you desperately for blogging friendship read your answers!
